♥ My December Glossy box

Monday, 31 December 2012

It has been over a week that I received the box. But I didn't find time to post it. So, I want to show you before the year ends:D Here's what I got in my December Glossy Box.

I know, I still didn't review the products that I got in my November Glossy Box except for the Kryolan Lipstick. I was a little busy and the place where I'm staying right now is too gloomy to take pics. So I will post reviews as soon as I get back.

♥ Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter Pink Truffle & Berry Smoothie Review

Wednesday, 26 December 2012

Revlon Lip butter- I thought that it would be like any other lip balm. With rave reviews about this beauty all over the internet, I changed my assumptions and picked up two instead of one!

Revlon Lip Butters in Pink Truffle and Berry Smoothie

♥ Kryolan lipstick for Glossy Box in Glossy Pink

Sunday, 9 December 2012

Last week I received this lipstick in my November Glossy Box. It is from Kryolan made specially for Glossy Box in the shade Glossy Pink (sounds pretty no? Looks pretty too!)

The lipstick comes in a black glossy and sturdy pack with the Glossy Box logo on the top. There is no indication of Kryolan in the pack but it is given in their website.

♥ Diorskin Nude Skin-Glowing Makeup in shade 50-Beige Fonce

Wednesday, 5 December 2012

This is my new found love -The Dioskin nude skin glowing makeup in shade 50! My ideal foundation!

I never get satisfied when I try foundations because it looks unnatural. My first one was from Sephora, but I used it only once. When I was in India, I was tanned a lot and during my first 2 months in France my skin remained the same. But with the climate here and the skin care routine (which I follow religiously!), my skin has shown some improvement. So my hunt for foundation started again which ended with this.

The product is in a square bottle with silver cap and the blue carton with silver words looks classy. But could have been better for a brand like Christian Dior. Don't hold the bottle by the cap! The cap is weightless!   The pump applicator disposes a little amount with each pumping, so no wastage of product.

♥ My November Glossy Box

Tuesday, 4 December 2012

Hey beauties! I received my first Glossy Box yesterday night! I got the November Box with the Glossy Magazine.

What I love about the Glossy Box is the package. The baby pink and black combination is simply superb and the classy logo attracts me.

The box was provoking Christmas mood with the festive paper packing.

♥ Kiss Beauty Blusher/Bronzer-Baked Powder

Thursday, 29 November 2012

Kiss Beauty has again proved to be a brand worth investing. I already have a Kiss Beauty blusher palette and I love it. My first bronzer is also from the same brand. It is totally inexpensive and I sooo love it <3

♥ L'oreal color riche nail polish-Perle de Jade

Tuesday, 27 November 2012

This is one shade that I always wanted to get. So when I found it in l'oreal color riche range, I just grabbed it!

It is a nice mint pastel shade and a perfect spring color. You know, I have started the spring collection-everything in mint!

♥ The Spy Who Loved Me-OPI Skyfall Collection

♥ Banjara's Carrot gel

When Banjara's brand was launched, it was really popular among people because of it's wide range of products at low prices. I found this Banjara's product that my friend was using and decided to try myself.

The Banjara's Carrot gel is for anti-ageing. Carrots have rich anti-ageing properties with ingredients like retinol and carotene. So it is advised to include carrots, greens and yellow and orange fruits/vegetables in our daily diet.

♥ Garnier Men Oil Clear Face Wash

Monday, 5 November 2012

Today's review is men's stuff. It's Garnier Men Oil Clear Face wash. Skin care for men is catching up pace with that of women and Garnier contributes significantly to it. To know more about the launch and company claims, visit my post here.

So, as all of you would have started thinking by now whether "I" tried it, the answer is no. It was tried and tested by my BF and he sent these pics. Men don't know how much we get involved in posting reviews. Yes, I don't like the pictures:( Anyways, now off to the review.

What Garnier says: All day oil-free feel. Formulated with oil absorbing mineral clay and Cyro-menthol.Cleanses without drying the skin.

Price: 74 INR for 50 gm and 140 INR for 100 gm.

Packaging: It comes in a black tube with graphic labels. I love the combination of black and green. The cap is flip open type and just squeeze the tube to get the cream and the tube is handy.

About the face wash: It has refreshing smell (because of menthol I think) and a decent amount is enough to give you a clean face. It cleanses excess oil on the face and leaves it fresh. Since south India is not so dry during winters, there was no feeling of dryness. If you are in Delhi or so, use a moisturizer after cleansing. But this is more suited to use in summers. The claim of all day oil free face is not fully covered. The freshness doesn't stay all day. It depends on the type of work you do, the climate and your skin type.

Overall, I recommend this product for men as it is not expensive and delivers freshness instantly. Catch a small tube, slip it in your sports bag or office bag and stay fresh before a meeting or date and for all important occasions! And all lovely ladies can gift it to your beloved men!

♥ Deborah Milano 24 ORE eyeliner

Sunday, 4 November 2012

Heya sweeties! Here's the review of my first felt tip eye liner and first Deborah Milano product- Deborah Milano 24 ORE eyeliner pen in shade 01 Intense Black.

What the company says:

Felt tip-easy application
Ophthalmologically tested

Packaging: The Deborah Milano eyeliner pen is like a regular pen/sketch pen with felt tip that is sharp and soft. It doesn't deform with usage and remains in shape for precise lining. It is weightless and can easily be slipped in your bag for touch ups and while traveling.

Price: 400 INR

The shade is 01 Intense Black and it is not much pigmented. So one swipe is not enough. You need 2-3 swipes to get normal black color and more if you want to build color.

Staying power: It stays for 4-5 hours and starts to fade after that. But you can always have it handy for touching up. It is not water proof. It doesn't smudge but faded after rubbing hard. It stains eyelids when you sweat or if your eyelids are oily.

I don't get it always perfect:( Need practice.

One and two swipes                                                                     After rubbing with fingers

+Pros+
+Travel-friendly
+Easy to apply
+Easily available
+Fine tip
+Doesn't smudge

-Cons-
-No ingredients list
-No other shades
-Not much pigmented
-Not waterproof
-Not suitable if your eyelids are oily and on hot/sweaty days.

To sum up, this is an average product. I recommend this for touch ups and experimenting.

♥ Biotique Bio-Coconut Whitening and Brightening cream

Monday, 1 October 2012

After reading a lot of reviews, I bought the Biotique Bio Coconut Whitening & Brightening Cream. I was attracted by the word 'COCONUT'. I know the role of coconuts in skin care and was eager to try it and I

Packaging: Comes in a green (my fave colour) tub packing, cute and sturdy.

Price: 199 INR

What company claims???... This luxurious cream is blended with extracts of pure virgin coconut, dandelion and manjistha to fade away dark spots and blemishes. With regular use, skin is noticeably fairer, smoother and brighter.

How to use: Apply to cleansed face and neck. Gently massage into skin, concentrating on the areas to be lightened, morning and evening.

Ingredients: Nariyal (Coco nucefera water) 3.0%, Dudhal (Taraxcum officinale) 3.5%, Manjistha (Rubia cordifolia) 2.1%, Nimba kamla (Citrus limonum) 0.5%, Badam tail (Prunus amygdalus) 2.0%, Cream base Q.S.

Shelf life: 3 years

Texture: Texture is like a mousse (choco mousse:D). Its like a dream (its pure white) and gets easily absorbed.

It smells good (a pleasant coconut smell) and blends easily. It is moisturizing and its not much oily. But if you go overboard, then you are gonna look like an oil tank. Though it suits all skin types, oily skinned beauties must take care. I apply it only at night to relieve my skin from dryness. The ingredients being natural are good for skin. Well coming to the whitening and brightening part. It does brighten the face when applied and skin feels nourished and the skin tone is evened out.I love to touch my skin after applying it:) But the whitening claim is not much fulfilled. I don't expect to get whitened. I'm just happy with my dusky skin tone :D

Rating: 4/5

♥ Amway Attitude Nail polish

Friday, 21 September 2012

Hi sweeties. After passing a busy week, I finally could spend time for my blog. I moved from Brest (my old post here) after completing my language course and now I am in Rennes. This is really an awesome city with old buildings and lots of educational institutes. Now coming to my blog, I really have lots of posts dumped in drafts. So I decided to give life to them and this review is Amway Attitude nail polish in shade Crimson.

Packaging: It comes in a black carton which I love very much.

Quantity: 8 ml

Price: 129 INR

The shade is Crimson which is golden red with slight shimmer. I usually don't go for these shades as I'm dusky. I found this in my friend's stash and wanted to give it a try and I love it.

Staying power: Stays pretty well for 5 days with slight chipping in the end which is not noticeable. The brush is a bit lengthy and it is easy to apply.

Have you tried Amway Nail paints? Do share in comments:)

♥ MAC Lipliner in Magenta

Saturday, 25 August 2012

Hey sweetiepies. This is my first MAC product. Though this colour don't suit me, I couldn't avoid this gift:) Let's move on to the review.

Price: 15$ US (approx 831 INR)

Shades: Available in 32 shades from nude to bright among which 4 are LE.

MAC Magenta Lip Pencil is a pinky-purple shade with cool blue undertones. It has a hard texture and not smooth. I feel a bit of difficulty in lining with this pencil. It goes well with pink and purple lippies like Maybelling "Fuchsia Fever", MAC "Girl About Town", "Chatterbox", "Rebel", Illamasqua "Plunge", etc. It stays for quite a long time and gives brighter lips.

Have you tried this shade or any other MAC lip pencils. Share through your comments!

♥ EverYuth Naturals Cucumber Face Pack

Sunday, 5 August 2012

I have used 2 products from Ever Yuth Naturals-Orange peel off mask and walnut scrub. The scrub worked well for me and the peel off mask did nothing (not only to me but for everyone I think!). Now, when this is the case, I tried another product from the brand- Cucumber face pack. I prefer to use home made face packs much.

What Everyuth says...: Your skin needs INTENSIVE CARE every week as dust, pollution and harsh sunrays harm its texture, etc. Everyuth Cucumber Face pack has neem, lemon, turmeric to purify your skin.

Package: It comes in a white flip open tube.

Directions: Cleanse your face. Apply the face pack evenly on your face and neck. Allow it to dry for about 15 minutes and then was off.

Price: 50 INR for 60 gm

Everyuth Naturals Cucumber face pack is for normal to oily skin people. It is thick and you have to mix it with water to apply easily. It is a very pale green cream. It dries very quickly. So apply before it dries.

The pack tightens the skin and reduces the pores. It gives a tingling sensation when applied and it is hard to remove after it dries. It gives a clean feeling and the skin feels soft and glowing. This is a good product to try.

+Pros+
+Makes skin clean and glowing
+Travel friendly
+Available easily
+Good quantity for the price

-Cons-
-Tingling sensation (due to active ingredients)
-Not suitable for dry skin
-Smell could have been better

♥ Himalaya Herbals Clarifying Face Wash Instant glow

Saturday, 30 June 2012

I have never used any Himalaya products. Recently I could lay hands on Himalaya Herbals Clarifying Fairness Face wash Instant glow.

Price: 60 INR for 50 ml/gm

Packaging: Comes in a regular transparent tube packaging with flip open cap.

What does it say...Soap free, herbal formulation, Clarifying fairness face wash brightens and reveals glowing skin. enriched with Saffron, proven for its complexion enhancing properties, this face wash gives a fairer and clearer complexion. Pomegranate nourishes, mint cools and cucumber soothes your skin, leaving it nourished. Use regularly for clean, fresh and glowing skin.

Directions for use: Moisten face and neck; apply a small amount of clarifying fairness face wash and gently work up a lather using circular motion. Wash off and pat dry. Use twice daily. Follow with Himalaya Fairness Cream with Clarifying Fairness Face Wash regularly for best results.

Price: 60 INR

Ingredients: Something herbal and something chemical. Refer pic below.

The tube is transparent so that we can check how much product remains. The cream is neither too thick nor runny. It has a very mild fragrance (almost like no fragrance). It gives good lather though it doesn't have soap. It can be used as a mild cleanser and the skin feels soft. But it doesn't work on fairness or lightening as claimed. It suits all skin types and does not dry out the skin.

+Pros+
+Good price for the quantity
+Suitable for all skin types
+No breakouts
+Available easily
+Good for those with sensitive nose
+Packaging-transparent tube

-Cons-
-Doesn't brighten or give fairness

♥ Garnier Pure Active Pimple relief roll-on

Saturday, 23 June 2012

I normally don't get pimples. But the sweltering heat here makes my skin breakout:( Now what came to my rescue? It's the Garnier Pure Active Pimple relief roll-on.

Price: 199 INR for 10 ml.

What does the company say: It helps dry pimples with extra purifying formula. It has salicylic acid and Herba repair. Herba repair is a natural active extracted from Vaccinium myritillus with exceptional regenerating and skin repairing properties. More on the pic below.

Packaging: It is like a pen with a roller ball tip and a transparent cap. It is easy to hold and use. But the ball gets stuck sometimes because the liquid on the ball dries and changes into a sticky thing.

I applied it on the pimple after cleansing. It gives a chilling sensation when applied and it makes the pimple small. I applied 3 times a day and my pimple is getting smaller like it dries out on continuous use. But I'm afraid that it leaves marks on the skin when the pimple dries. It has a nice smell like a perfume. To be specific- like the Eau de cologne.

It doesn't make your skin sticky. This is surely worth trying. Though it cannot be considered as a complete pimple reduction treatment, still it comes handy when you are in a hurry.

+Pros+

Dries out pimples on regular use.
Easy to use
Not very pricey
Availability
Suitable for all skin types

-Cons-

Less quantity
Leaves marks on skin after drying up the pimple
Liquid on ball dries and becomes sticky after use

Though I am not in need of it often, I would like to have it in case of emergency;)
